Figen Ayan is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Ayan Consulting, an international advisory firm specialising in cruise tourism, port development, destination strategy, maritime innovation, and sustainable growth.

With more than 30 years of leadership across the Mediterranean, the Gulf, and global cruise markets, Figen is widely recognised for her strategic vision and deep operational expertise in shaping the future of cruise destinations and ports.

She previously served as President of MedCruise, representing more than 150 ports across 22 countries, and played a leading role in the development of six cruise ports across three countries, including Galataport Istanbul, the landmark $1.7 billion waterfront development and home to the world’s first underground cruise terminal, which she helped lead from conception to operation.

Today, Figen continues to influence the industry as a Seatrade Ambassador for Port Innovation & Community Engagement, advising governments, ports, and luxury travel stakeholders on forward-looking, sustainable cruise strategies worldwide.
